More Important Information
The Junior Class has hired Marc Spano with Spano's Big Picture Photography as the official Prom photographer. He will offer formal prom photos from 7 to 8 p.m. at the entrance to the Columbus Botanical Garden's farmhouse. This is a beautiful picturesque setting on the porch with the garden and Gin House in the background. This service is included in your ticket cost. Mr. Spano will also offer access to an online gallery of the night’s photos with free unlimited downloads.
You may also take your own pictures beginning at 2 p.m. at your leisure throughout the garden. If you are hiring your own photographer, the standard $75 photography fee has been waived. You may take pictures throughout the gardens beginning at 2 p.m. the day of the event.
No one will be allowed on site before 2 p.m. per our contract with the Columbus Botanical Garden.
The senior walk will begin promptly at 8 p.m. Seniors will need to arrive at the Columbus Botanical Garden no later than 7:30 p.m. to begin lining up. Parents and families are welcome to attend pictures in the garden and the Senior Walk portion of the Prom. After each senior is introduced and honored, there will be a class photo taken. Immediately following the Senior Walk, the Prom King and Queen Coronation and first dance will take place. After the first dance, it is requested that all parents and families be dismissed.
The Music Prom Committee is currently compiling a playlist. Please submit requests using this link. Enter the title and the artist’s name that you would like to hear the DJ play. A compiled list will be given to the DJ. Inappropriate song selections will not be added to the playlist. Music requests will be accepted at Prom, but must be on the playlist. Only clean versions will be played. Please remember this is an elegant event and the song list should be inclusive of different genres and taste. Music played at a large event isn’t necessarily music you would listen to in your car. Please be mindful and considerate of your requests.
Parking is limited at the Columbus Botanical Garden. There is an overflow parking area. Students are encouraged to drop off their dates at the farmhouse before parking since the parking lot is not paved and is on the upper grounds. A security guard will be onsite for the entire Prom and will assist in parking.
Once a student checks in, they will not be allowed to leave and return. Every student must check in upon arrival and check out upon departure.
Please ensure Prom attire falls within the general dress guidelines of "modest, clean and appropriate for a Catholic school environment," as referenced in our High School Handbook Addendum (page 19). Any students who have questions about their dress for the dance are welcome to bring in their dress for approval prior to the event.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS AND ITEMS NEEDED
If you would like to help make the Prom extra special the Junior class is requesting a few items from you. Please click here to find out how you can help. We are requesting to borrow glass pedestal cake plates, decorative easels, drink dispensers, metal drink tubs, coolers for ice, and a few more specialty items! All items will be tagged and returned to you.
