Pacelli Student Earns 2nd Place in Essay Contest

This past spring, schools from across the Diocese of Savannah were asked to participate in the Southern Cross magazine's July 2024 Kids' issue by sending in artwork, questions for priests, and essays.

Alex Floyd, now a freshman at Pacelli, earned 2nd place in the magazine's essay contest. Her essay was focused on her favorite things about Mass. As part of her essay, she wrote, "Although I am not Catholic, I still very much enjoy the Mass. Mass allows me to spend time with God, with a community of people who have similar beliefs as me because I am Christian. My favorite part of the Mass is the Liturgy of the Eucharist. I think that this part of the Mass is the most thoughtful and beautiful."

Congratulations, Alex!
