Pacelli Honors John Henderson, Jr. - His Legacy Lives On

We paused to honor and remember one of our own at the start of Friday’s home football game.

Private John M. Henderson, Jr., a proud 2002 Pacelli graduate, Vikings Football player, and U.S. Army Ranger, made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

John wore the #7 jersey as a Pacelli Viking, exemplifying courage, discipline, and selfless service - values that defined him both on the field and the battlefield.

As part of a new tradition, each year, the #7 Henderson Honor Jersey will be presented to a player who reflects the heart, character, and warrior spirit that John embodied. This year, Pacelli senior Dustin Sherman will wear #7.

Dustin leads not with words, but with actions - putting his team first and carrying himself with integrity and grit. Surrounded by Dustin’s family, Vikings Football Coach Smitty Grider, and members of John’s family, we proudly presented this year’s Henderson Honor Jersey. We know Dustin will wear #7 with pride, purpose, and in honor of Private John Henderson, whose legacy continues to live on.
