New Leader of Vikings Track and Field Program
St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School announces the promotion of Coach Detra Rosser—affectionately known as Coach D—as our new high school Head Track and Field Coach for the upcoming season!
A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Coach D brings with her a wealth of experience, dedication, and a deep passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the track. She ran high school track at Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia, and continued her athletic career at Albany State University.
“Coach D is known not only for her success on the track but also for her commitment to student-athlete development,” said St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School Athletic Director Calvin Thomas.
“I’m excited about my next steps at Pacelli,” Coach D says. “My goal in coaching is to build good habits, teach discipline, and coach athletes to stand out.”
About Detra Rosser
Coach D’s coaching journey began in 2000 as the Head Coach for Columbus Park and Recreation. Since then, her coaching resume has grown to include:
- Founder of the Fountain City Track Club (2005)
- Coach at Kendrick High School (2001–2010)
- Coach at Carver High School (2011–2019)
- Coach at Stewart County Schools (2022–2024)
- Assistant Coach at Pacelli High School (2024–2025)
Coach D’s Career Achievements
- 2× Coach of the Year – Columbus, GA
- Coached multiple regional championship teams
- Mentored numerous AAU Junior Olympic athletes
- Coached two individual state champions
There will be a Meet the Coach event for students going into grades 8-12 who are interested in Track and Field and their parents on Monday, June 16th at 7 p.m. at The Beck Center, 1801 Box Road, Columbus, GA.
