Meet the Coaches
Corry Black, Head Boys' Coach
Corry Black is the athletic director and head basketball coach at St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School. He started coaching the boys’ varsity Vikings Basketball Team in the 2017-2018 school year, when the Vikings’ record was 0-22. In 2021, the Vikings Basketball Team celebrated an historic season, winning the region and advancing to the Elite 8 in the GHSA state playoffs with an 18-4 record. In 2021, Black was named region Coach of the Year. He is known for his 1% better mentality, emphasizing the importance of being dedicated to making small changes and improvements every day, with the expectation that those small improvements will add up to something significant. During his career, he has been an assistant basketball coach at Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Ala. (2008-2009), Columbus State University in Columbus, Ga. (2004-2008) and Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Ala. (2000-2002). In addition, he operates CBHoops, a scouting company that connects players to coaches and coaches to players.
Bryant Thomas, Head Girls' Coach
Born and raised in Columbus, Ga., Bryant Thomas is the founder of Perfect Practice Basketball Skill Development & Training. He has over 15 years of basketball experience as a coach, consultant and skills development trainer. The fruits of his labor have helped produce state high school champions; All Bi-City, All Region & State team selections; collegiate signees; ESPN Top 100 players and top collegiate ranked players.
Thomas’ coaching background includes: assistant boys’ basketball coach at Brookstone (2016-2019); student assistant basketball coach at Columbus State University (2012-2014); lead skill instructor for Under Armour’s Best of the Best Camp (2010-2012), and AAU Coach (2005-present).
During his time as a player, Thomas was an All Bi-City and All-State performer with a high school career average of 15 points and eight assists per game. While at Coastal Georgia Community College, Thomas was ranked 3rd in NJCAA in assists and steals, averaged 10 points, 8 assists and four steals per game and recorded 16 double-doubles. Thomas played his last two seasons of his collegiate career at Columbus State University.
